4 Most Hated (but Useful) Insects

Several kinds of insects hated because of disgusting and sometimes transmit germs that cause deadly diseases. On the other hand, it turns out its presence provides a certain benefit for the global ecosystem.

1. Mosquito

Not only transmit malaria, mosquitoes also transmit several other deadly diseases such as dengue fever, and elephantiasis chikungnya. Without any germs that are transmitted, the bite itself is very annoying because it triggered spots itching and redness. However, some species need mosquitoes and its larvae for eating such as frogs and bats. Without mosquitoes, extinction or migration patterns of wildlife can be affected.

2. Maggot

In horror movies, maggots are always portrayed as a scary scavenger and disgusting. Its appearance on the corpse is often identified as the punishment of sinners. Whereas in science, maggots can be used to practice medicine called maggot debridement therapy (MDT). A fly maggot or beetle larvae were placed in a wound in a certain way so the wound can’t spread, and actually they can prey on bacteria that cause infection too.

3. Fly

Where there is waste and bad smell, that's where the flies will always appear. Slovenly impression is definitely attached to the flying insects that difficult to get caught by empty-handed. Just like mosquitoes, flies are also needed by some species as main food. Moreover, fly eggs will hatch into maggots and help decomposition of waste and organic material that pollutes the environment.

4. Cockroaches

Shiny surface of its body does not reduce the impression of dirty insect on this one. Black and cockroach antennae are always moving often stimulates the reflex to take the broom and then struck. When in fact cockroaches have hygienic behavior is equivalent to the cat, which is frequently licking her own body to keep it hygienic. In addition, research has shown brain cockroaches contain antibacterial compounds that can eradicate the super germs.
